What are the two interlobar fissures present on the right side of the chest, and how do they differ from the left interlobar fissure?
The two interlobar fissures on the right side of the chest are the oblique (major) fissure and the horizontal (minor) fissure. In contrast, the left side has only the oblique fissure.
The right lung features both an oblique fissure, which runs from the level of T4 to the anterior sixth rib, and a horizontal fissure that starts at the sixth rib and extends to the medial section of the fourth rib. The left lung, however, contains only the oblique fissure, lacking the horizontal fissure that is present on the right.
